UNLV Creates
Hey there Rebels! We are super excited to get to know you this summer when you attend your orientations, but did you know that the fun doesn’t end once orientation is over?
One of the best traditions here at UNLV is an event called Creates. It’s basically our way of saying welcome to campus! On the Friday before classes start, all first year students and their families are welcome to attend a fun day filled with guest speakers, music performances, and lots of giveaways from your colleges!
The morning starts off in our amazing Thomas and Mack Center, right in the heart of campus. You’ll get to sit with everyone else who is in your college, and who knows, maybe you’ll be sitting next to your best friend!
Remember those Expo cards from your orientation? This is where we draw our lucky winner at a $1,000 scholarship! That’s right... $1,000 but you have to be there to get it. (Hint hint)
After the morning ceremony, you will be walked from the Thomas and Mack to your college for another presentation! You’ll get to meet current students, staff, faculty, and academic advisors who are going to help you out over the next four years!
So here are some important details about your day at UNLV Creates:
It will be on August 23, 2019 starting in the Thomas and Mack. Doors will open starting at 8:00 a.m., and you will see the amazing Ryan Romero again from orientations. There will be lots of fun icebreakers and opportunities to meet the people around you. At 9:00 a.m., the program will officially begin. We are currently working with UNLV Tickets to make sure your tickets for the day are available for download. The event is free to attend, however, you MUST have a printed or digital ticket to enter the Thomas and Mack. Students are allowed up to two guests.
On the day of, we recommend that you wear your “I am A Rebel” shirt from orientation. There will be lots of great photo opportunities! We also know it’s going to be a little toasty outside, so please consider bringing a reusable water bottle. Concessions in the Thomas and Mack will not be open.
